Coeliac Disease Awareness Week is running from 8th to 14th May this year, when Coeliac UK will launch the Gluten Freevolution. The campaign runs throughout 2017 so chefs and caterers have plenty of time to get involved!
With a little help from Whirl you can create a delicious menu of dishes suitable for those who have coeliac disease.
Gluten free breads are widely available these days, but making your own can be tricky with gluten-free flours. Instead, why not tempt customers with cornbread made from cornmeal, which is naturally gluten free?

According to charity Coeliac UK [www.coeliac.org.uk], a potential £100m is being lost by foodservice operators that don’t serve gluten-free dishes.
When Coeliac UK polled its members, 80% said that when dining out with others, their need for gluten-free food was the deciding factor in choosing where to eat.
